Q: I created a PDF and can't print it to the PDF printer because it's reported to be encrypted.
A: Select Tools - Options - PDF and unselect "encrypt PDFs" option.
Q: Is it possible to create a table of contents for the exported pdf? I.e. the pdf is intended to be printed, and a table of contents at the start of the document would make navigation of the document much easier.
A: Select Tools - Options - General and set "PDF export style" option to Old style (w/o bookmarks).
Q: My computer setup does not have a C: drive, windows etc is on the F: drive. I kept getting an invalid filename Error message. Is it possible to allow the designation of the temporary directory in the options menu?
A: Select Tools - Options - Misc, and set "Decompile directory" option. Please be careful and type a non-existing directory (it will be removed after you close ABC Amber CHM Converter program).
Q: I am having a problem with the output. Some of the converted pages are extending beyond the edge of the PDF.
A: There's a useful option - "convert tables" (Tools - Options - General), please select it and create a new PDF.
There is the option to increase the speed of conversion.
Set "HTML import" option to embedded parser (Tools - Options - General), open your chm file and then convert it. However this is not the recommended way (external importer gives the better results - supports CSS styles, etc.)
Q: After running our CHM file through your software - the links within the PDF document pages were not preserved. Is there a setting that needs to be changed in order to keep the links within the pages themselves active?
A: Check "preserve local links" option (since v2.04).
Q: I've been trying out the demo version to convert some old CHM ebooks into PDF, and I've found the text has overflowed the bottom of the page and been truncated. Is this a known problem, and if so is a fix available?
A: Select Tools - Options - General - PDF export, and select "convert tables" option ("HTML import" option should be set to external importer).
